InvoiceForge — Laravel Invoicing & Billing

InvoiceForge is a finished application, not a starter kit. Install it on your own server and you have client management, quotations that convert to invoices, recurring subscriptions, partial payments, credit notes, expense tracking and a branded client portal — all in a codebase organised the way a senior Laravel developer would organise it.

Billing that handles real edge cases

Invoices support line-item discounts and document-level discounts, inclusive or exclusive tax modes, multiple tax lines per item, per-client currency with a stored exchange rate at issue time, and sequential numbering with a configurable prefix that never gaps. Recurring invoices generate on a schedule with an optional approval step, retry logic for failed charges, and dunning emails on a configurable cadence.

A client portal worth sending people to

Clients log in to see outstanding balances, download PDFs, accept or decline quotes with a signature capture, view payment history and update their billing details. Every document is also reachable through a signed public link, so a client without an account can still pay in two clicks. Payment gateway adapters ship for card and wallet flows, and the adapter interface is documented for adding your own.

Built to be modified

The code follows Laravel conventions closely: form requests for validation, service classes for money mutations, policies for authorisation, events for side effects, and a test suite covering the tax and numbering logic. PDF rendering runs through Blade templates you can restyle without touching PHP. Localisation files cover the interface, and the invoice document itself supports right-to-left layouts.

Operationally sane

Includes queue configuration for mail and PDF work, a scheduler entry for recurring billing, database seeders for a demo dataset, and an installer that verifies requirements before writing configuration. Upgrades are documented per version with migration notes.

PHP 8.3 or newer with the mbstring, gd, zip, bcmath and intl extensions. MySQL 8.0 or MariaDB 10.6+. Composer. A queue worker and a cron entry for scheduled billing. Roughly 250 MB of disk for the application and generated documents.
